Just want to share some of the TEAMRICE gang normal weekend activities. Apart from the DIY stuff, driving aimlessly, sleeping at quite time alone at home. We also sometimes hang out together. Last weekend. We finally decided to go to Amcorp Mall. For me and Hezz the trip there is normally to go to our fav Mag shop.
It's been a while since I actually go there. We did some window shopping. Visit the toy shop that actually sells expansvice toys. They actually have a RM: 600 Predator action figure. It looks damn cool but the price just mind boggling.
Then comes the mag shop. I actually bought 5 D-Sports mag. All with some write ups on Evo. Tell you quite frankly, D-Sport is one of those mag that doesn't show cars just for the bling-bling. It actually tells you the technical aspect of modding and there's dyno chart as well. Knowledge is power guys...
We had our dinner there at Kenny Rogers. Good food and plenty of clowning around as well. I was doing the impersonations of Desmond N1 like the whole day. The best part I really sounded and look like him. It sure makes everyone laugh.
Clowning around session : IJud & Me
Desmond N1 looks .. Sort off
That's much better!!
Nana & Hezz
The after math .. IJud was so tired that he just doze off
It was a fun day. Lots of laugh and hopefully we gonna do it again this coming weekend. Weekend should be spent with friends. That's what I call quality time. AHAKS!!

7474 HKS Hi-Power Muffler Titanium Tip
Finally, I got myself a new muffler. Quite frankly, I prefer without the muffler due to the sounds you get from straight piping. It makes the car sounds powerfull. Unfortunately, the cops would love the sound too. They love it so much that we would ask me to sign a paid autograph. Guess whose paying, off course it has to be me.
I've been scouting some brands of exhaust in terms of looks. I must say HKS has the nicest looks and with the titanium tip it looks even more fierce. The only problem is HKS is rather quite. Well, I can have everything.
Got the muffler from N1 and intalled it at JFA Sunway.
HKS 2" & 3" Hi-Power with Titanium tip muffler
Straight flow piping set-up
With the muffler
Rear view of 7474 with the new muffler
My first impression of the muffler after installation. It has a rather bassy kind of sound. Nice note on high rev. But quite frankly, it's too quite for me since I so used to the noise straight piping set-up. Surprisingly the car felt more torque at high rev.
Looks wise, why not you be the judge ot it. I know for a fact it does makes the rear looks bigger and complete.
Damaged :
3" HKS Hi-Power with titanium tip(N1) ~ RM: 900
Installation (JFA) ~ RM: 50

7474 Hankook RS 2 Tyres + Evo 7 rims
This was another wear and tear items that badly needed a change. It came to a point that it felt like driving on ice. When it rains things could get pretty scary at times, especially when the car twitched. No matter how good you are , when the car skids out of control. Not even Colin Mcrae can come out from it unscathed. Unless lady luck is smilling on you...Hahahha
The choise that I have to make was either to go for standard 225/45/17 or 235/45/17 tyres. I've been like pondering over this for the past couple of months. Since I'm going to change to an after market rims minght as well go for 235/45/17 tyres . Just to let you know that most after rims has a width either 8JJ or 8.5JJ while the stock TME tims is only 7.5JJ. If I used the stock size tyre size., not only it looks wierd. It also causes the tyre wear to be accelarated.
After giving it a good thought I finally came to a decision thanks to Ijud. If it wasn't for his kindness to loan his rims I probably wouldn't be able to change to 235 tyres. The next issue was the looks. everyone knows that TMe comes with a nice enkei rims. I'm not saying Evo 7 rims are ugly. They are nice but it'll be out of place on a TME. But what the heck, since I'm not that rich to actually change everything one shot , guess I just gamble with the Evo 7 rims on a TME then. By the end of the day, it's me whose going to bear all the cost. Fuck what people says.
Got the tyres from this shop in Klang near Jalan Kapar. The price quoted to me earlier was RM: 380 for 225 size and 350 for 235 size. But when I got there that day the price actually went up to RM:480. The guy who quoted me the price actually denied about the earlier quotation. What a bastard. Since I don't have enough cash. I just change the 2 front tyres.
I was fortunate that Ijud's rims still has 2 good tyres. I really got this guy to thank again. Check out the photo with the Evo 7 rims.

With Evo 7 rims
My personel opinion is that the Evo 7 rims makes my car looks wider furthermore due to the pattern of the rims. It gives you the impression that the rims is bigger. But it does looks sout of place. The Evo 7 rims is a conservative design whereby the TME is more like a sporty looks. Anyway, I do have an after market rims in mind. If my budget permits me it'll be WEDSPORT SA-70.

7474 APP Steel Braided Hoses
I've wanted to change the stock brake hoses like for ages. Due to the price of the brake hoses, had to keep this project on hold. Guess the time is now . Better late and never. Of course my first choise would be the APP hoses. What so good about this brake hose.
APP Teflon Braided Hose(Mit Evo 5-6) APP SS Lines feature the finest quality stainless steel braided hose and stainless steel fittings. The use of such ridged, flex free materials is what improves braking performance and eliminates the spongy feel of rubber hoses. The use of 302 Grade Stainless Steel provides superior resistance to corrosion.
Meanwhile, the stock brake hoses are made out of rubber and would expand during hard braking and would cause brake fades as it'sa bad heat conductor. Brake fades = bad news. Brake hoses is one of the frist step to a better braking system. Of course we have caliper, rotor and brake pads as well. But brake hoses also plays a big role too.
Anyway, take a look at the comparison between stock versus APP. Not only the APP brake hoses looks much more cooler but it performs better too. Stock rubber brake hose APP Steel braided hoses.
Stock Rubber Brake Hoses
APP Steel Brake Hoses
Due to N1 racing ran out of stock. I went and got mine from KSP for RM: 560 and installed it at N1 for RM: 80. Lucky for me I still got some left over brake fluid or it'll be more expensive. For the brake fluid I'm using Motul RBF 600. After installing the brake hoses, the immediate feel was the brake is more responsive compare with the old rubber ones.

7474 Updates: 28/11/06
I gues I haven't been talking about TME 7474 for quite a while. I was kind of busy, furthermore there were so many things hapening during the month of November. This month is the month of replacing the wear and tear. Yeah!! You heard me. Tell ya owning an Evo is not cheap, especially when thing starts to wear off.
Anyway, here are some of the stuff I've changed, added and replaced:
1). Stock rubber brake hoses ~ APP steel braided brake hoses (RM: 560 + 80 installation)
2). Change front tyres Hankook RS2 235/45/17 + Evo 7 rims (RM:950 + installation)
3). Straight flow piping ~ HKS High Power muffler (RM: 900 + 50 installation)
4). Changed the turbo gasket (RM: 150)
Total money spent ~ RM: 2690

Alwyn's Open House in Petaling Jaya
Alwyn is one of the TEAMRICE senior member. Every year without fail this guy would invite us to his parents open house. It's a huge house at Bukit Gasing. The food is excellent and nice crowd.
Hezz, Nana and me hitched a ride with avang ahaks. AKA Avang lonely jiwa sasau AKA Napi. Zoo also came with Lilly. It was raining cats and dogs on the way there. We arrived around 6pm and start attacking the food straight away. Actually, we could have arrived earlier if it wasn't for Napi. He's fashionably late as usual. I think he got Bobo's sickness as wel.. ahahahahaha
We saw some old friends and familiar faces from our HCOC days. Ezrin also came with 19 year old chick. All I can say it was a very good evening to spend with friends. I truely enjoy the food too.
Nana, Napi & Hezz .. Napi trying to make up for his lateness by trying to look cute..
Hezz finally realize that we were taking pictures.. Guess he must be famish
Zoo and Lilly.. Matching outfit white..
Me & Nana .. Matching outfit as well .. Green
Everyone is full and it's clowning around time..

MEOC AGM Meeting
MEOC AGM Meet 12th.Nov 06
Finally after my long absent, I got to meet up with the good old MEOC member. It's nice to see somany familiar faces and also new ones too. Not to mentioned some hot looking Evos with with cool mods. I can't compare my Evo to theirs as mine is as stock as it can be.
They probably can give me a trophy for being teh cleanest engine bay. I madean extra effort to ensure the engine is spotless. Cleaner than usual. I tell ya , I have this engine bay fetish. Just can't leave it alone.
Overall the meeting was cool. Getto chit-chat with fellow Evo owners and get some ides on the car mod. Other than that it was a pretty normal meet. You know the usual photo shoot, checking rims engine bay, body kit, exhaust.
Anyway, here are some of the pictures taken..

Sepang Drag Battle
Sepang Drag Battle 11th.Nov 2006
I guess this Sepang Drag Battle was more of debu day for Suhaimi and his monster EG. For the Carlos kaki this was like waiting to watch for a long over due movie. Suhaimi's car has been in the making and the preparation was like as long as I can remember. I guess with some patience and bus load of money he finally made his debu. My comments on the car ........ It was superb until I dunno what to say. you know our local mag should post his car. this car is perfect. Clean engine bay and loads of expensive goodies. Further more this car is strong. Anyway, his car was the crowd magnet that night. It was like a celebrity. When he pit-in there'll be a crowd frenzy. People just like looking at the car in aw. Like looking at Pamela Anderson tits for the first time.. ahahaha..
Suhaimi's Monster
The night goes as what we anticipated, not ,many turn out of cars. Considering the poor weather and many engines blew causing the track to be slippery. It was an okay night. For the TEAMRICE gang it was a fun night. Hezz, Zoo, Ijot, Jeff, Jason, Nana, Tracy, Dogg and his friends were there.

Zoo, Ijot, Me, Hezz, Jason, Eryin and his wife were there that night. I wouldn't say it's a boring night. there were plenty of cars and yummy chicks. Namely fiona Kwok. Off course she's nothing compare to my dearest Nana.. Jangan marah Yang.. AHAKS!!
