Now, I going to talk about one of my best mates rides. He happens to share the same interest since both of us , basically driving the same car model. I must say he had gone a long way and turn his car into a real beauty. Back then when he first got his car. He had set his mind into modding the car and voila. Let's look back how the car used to be and after the transformation.

What's gone is the bumper with the spotlight. That's another TME bumper version. Quite frankly, I prefer without the spotlight. It's gives the car more sporty looks. The Stock rims also had been replace. The rims is now residing with 7474. ahahaha...
He also change the colour to the original TME colour. Which is darker than the colour when he got the car. Thanks to Naza painted the lighter shades of blue. The new paint job was done at Cheah Puchong. Man, he had done a real good paint job.
In addition to that he also got hold of a brand new gold SSR rims which looks awesome coupled with the blue TME colour. This new rims makes the car looks wider. With an offset of 8.5" the rims looks really wide from the rear.
Check out the new looks. For me, Zoo had transformed his TME to a show car looks. He had done a real good job. Anyway, You'll be the judge of it.

Even the engine bay had gone through some major make over. The stock looks is thing of the past now. New stuff added are Greedy Airinx airfiler, HKS twinpower, ARC manifold cover, Cusco radiator cooling plate, Silicon hoses, Samco radiator hoses, Greedy oil cap. Now the engine bay looks immaculate as well.

Guess he'll keep on adding more stuff to his car. As for me it'll be a long way to go. But at least he had set a good benchmark for me now.

Ma Rides.. Pt 5
The search for my Evo continues.. I came across Ari's add in one of the local Motorsport's forum called Zerotohundred. I must say when I first saw the car pictures it was like love at first sight. Well, for start it's black and that's like one of my favourite colour. Secondly it's stock. Since Ari is quite well known in the drag scene community. It's easire to find out more about the car history and background of the seller.
The first look at TME7474
Engine Bay
TME 7474 interior
The car comes withDefi Boost meter, TIEN Ha Coilovers, HKS twin plate, Smaco radiator hoses, Double Din & Blitz Super sound BOV.
Nothing much to shout about since it's a stock car anyway. To cut the story short. The car now belongs to me. This was way back in 2005. It was a fun car to drive the G's you get from the acceleration is nothing compare to an N/A car. Love the sound of the BOV too. The handling is also phenomenal. It's like the car is riding on a rail whn taking corners. It's something that you need to experience in order to believe it.
The car been through several transformations. For a start, I change the HU. Since I still have my Kenwood double din HU from my old EK. I decided to change it and sell off the ones in the Evo since it's an older model. Then somes the rims. Got hold of a Sparco NSR rims. Balck rims on a black car. Man, it's give the bad boy look a new name. I got the rims from one of the shop in Sunway.

I gave that rims to Zuhaili after while. Tell you about that later. Then I got hold of a Project Mu rotor. Added some silicon hoses to replace all the old rubber hoses which looks rather pathetic.
Taken at SIC(2005 1st SIC outing)
Off course, it doesn't stop there. I've added more goodies to the car. Profec B boost controller by Greedy and 30mm Tial wastegate.
Tial wastegate & cusco radiator cooling plate - 2005
After a while driving this car. I got the same bug that I got when I used the EK. Wanting something new and furthermore after the lil mishap I had with 7474. I began to feel bored and decided to sell off the car. It's like going back to square one. sine my buyer wanted a lower price. I decided to strip all the after market price I have in the car. Yeah I mean all..
It was sad but it has to be done. To cut the story short again. This buyer of mine is on sorry MOFO. Yeah.. you heard me MOFO. Well, he gaveRM5K deposit whichy is good and ask me to wait like 4 months. Which I endure patiently. Then 4 months past no news from him. After sending him bus load of SMS only then he replied. But with 1001 excuses. The're so lame that a granny can die of a heart attack just listening to him. It's might be a genuine excuses. What pisses me off badly was how he handle the situations. Furthermore, he didn't put enough effort and took me for granted.
So I decided to open the car sale to the public. Put up add in Motortraders and Zth forum as well. Man!! I tell ya. there're quite a lot of interested party but none of them actually have the money to show for. All talk , no action. Infact they were trying to knock the price down so low that it makes the Evo looks like just another proton car.
After giving it a real good thought. I decided to keep the car. This time it's for good. Regrets, yeah a bit coz I done quite a lot and now I had to start all over again. Anyway, check out the new pictures.

Added a thermo wrap to cover the rubber parts surrounding the manifold. Also what's gone is the factory heat shield underneath the hood.. Since It's falling apart and kinda sight for sore eyes I decided to chuck it away.

Ma Rides.. Pt 4
After driving the Ek for quite a while, not to mentioned the headaches and sleepless night it gave me. I came to a point of ditching the current heart. I guess the lure to the darkside is stronger. Yes!! We're talking turbo charging. The Snail baby!! The thang that makes that swoosh sounds. Thanks to Brandon of TeamRice. I have been quitely keeping that intention.
The main obstacle or hurdles that's in my way is CASH!!. Roughly it's gonna cost me around RM: 2+k. Man that's a bomb!! It's like the A bomb that the Americanos drop on the Hiroshima. After giving it a good thought. i finally decided to go for an Evo. I must admit I'm actually a fan of Subaru thanks to my Idol Colin McRae (former WRC Champion). Anyway, Since we're living in Malaysia and parts for Subaru is kinda expansive. Since Evo also has 4wd Turbo and comes with a tenacious grip/handling. Evo it is then.
At first it's either Evo 7 or 6.5. Again the influence of WRC comes in. We all seen WRC. How Tommy Makinnen used to dominate the WRC in is Lancer Evo for many years. Man, this guy is like god behind the steering wheel. Ever since Mitsu started to use the Evo 7 their performance had dropped tremendously. They are not even close to the Subaru.
There're some things I love about the Evo 7 and some things I love about the 6.5. Let's start with the Evo 7 then.
Mitsu Evo 7
Pros:
1). Being the newer model. There're more aftermarket stuff for this car. I talking about body kit and other goodies.
2). I love the interior. Since I a neat frea. I love my car to look neat. Furthermore it gives you more of a newer model look.
3). Nice Steering. New Momo.
4). The Recaros has beter grip compare to the 6.5.
5). Better handling sine it has the all newly improved ACD (Active Center Differential).
Cons:
1). The looks is too sedate in stock form. You need at least an oversize rims and body kits. Which gonna cost me more money. sine I'm not a rich man. So it's kinda hard. As it it to maintain an Evo gonna cost me a bomb. Let alone to come up with more money just to make it look better.
2). Heard the ACD has some minor problem. It keeps breaking down. Nit sure how true it is.
3). Everyone has an Evo 7. At one point Evo 7 is like Proton. You can see many of them around. Since the price of the Evo has dropped. Many kids and I mean kids are driving one. So where the exclusiveness in driving an Evo.
4). No offence to the Evo 7 owner out there. But i think the Evo 7 looks a bit like Waja. Ahahahaha!!.. Don't you think so?
Mitsu Evo 6.5 TME
Pros:
1). It's a limited edition. Being limited edition therefore it's more saughtafter car. Believe it or not. The TME would get more attention then the Evo 7. People would actually stop to look at your car and say oohh.. Sports car.
2). The looks itself. You don't have to do a lot to make the TME looks nice. Coz It looks pretty impresive in it's stock form. The wide body kit. the Bi spoiler. The ralliart rims. Man!! The looks fast even when it's standing still.
3). Performance. On paper it seems like the Evo 7 has more torque. But i drove my friend's Evo 7 compare to the TME. Somehow it felt slower. The TME's turbo is similar to the one in Evo 8 MR.
4). Love the seats. It has Tommy Makinnen written on it and it's red and black. The TMe interior has that sporty feels. You feel more like in a sports car rather than in a normal sedan car.
Cons:
1). Being older gen Evo. The shops in Malaysia tend to bring less stuff for this car. So not many aftermarket product to choose from.
2). Some parts are hard to come by. Like the body kit. If you knock into something. Man!! searching for the parts gonna give you headache.
3). The seats is suitable to european dudes.. Not small Asian guy like me. Most of the times when I take hard corner. I need to actually braised myself against either the door or the side. Just to support, so that I don't fall off. Man you can really feel the G's man.
Next comes Ari 7474 TME..

Ma Rides.. Pt 3
Well, the interior also went through some transformation. I added a tachometer by Autometer. Then the Momo Gear knob. After that I chucked the good old Ek steering cause it's too bulky. Since I got small hands. So it's kind of difficult for me to get a good grip. I swapped the steering with my brother MOMO Top-Power. I had the same sterring in my GTi. Then 99 spec center console with a double Din Kenwood and an active sub woofer. After that took out the stock seats and replace with Recaro SPG blue for driver's side and Recaro Viper for passenger. Check-out the transformation.

After I've done with the interior. I've done some other mods as well. Like change the shocks to RGs for better handling and varis hood to lighten the car.. Final transformation.

Well, that's all I can say about my EK.. Despite the headache and all the problems it gave me.. I had quitea lot of good memories with this cars. If it wasn't for my EK. I wouldn't have met the TeamRice. I met some very good friends. In fact the Carlos kakis are my best friends. Thanks to them I learnt a lot more about cars and friendship. The names are not in order coz they are all my best friends..
Hazry, Zuhaili, Hanafi, Ijot, Jais, Jason, Pataya, Adrian Dogg.. You guys are the best mates .Hope it will never dies..
Lyle and Sean.. Thanks for being there for me. Brothers forever..
Finally if wasn't for 1122 I wouldn't have met Nana.. My sweetheart.
Anyway here're some pictures of 1122. I will missed you always..

Guess you've seen my Gti. It's nothing much to shout about. It ain't a monster. That's the term we used for moded car. ButI tell ya owning the Gti had helped me improved my driving skills and prepared me for the next car I owned.
Anyway, I tell ya. Kids nowadays, they just don't get it. Everyone can own a monster. But not everyone can drive one. My advice to all those young drivers out there. Improve you driving skills first before trying to aim for more power. Life is short, value it. hahahaha.. Looks whose talking.
Anyway, i'm dead serious man.. Okay, enough B/S.. Let's continue with my other ride.
WHF1122 ..
1122 heart
Anyway, after driving the Gti for 2 years. I started to become bored with the power of the car. Imagine, every track day. You gonna get a can of whoop-ass from the V-tec.Man the Honda boys was so fast. That was my thought coz they would over take me as if my car was standing still. At that time I was running like 160kmh. Still gaining momentum.Yet the V-tec just fly-by.
My first thought was, to start modding my car. The only option was turbo chargiing it since my 4G93P engine is a rather old model and there're not much I can do with it. I know for a fact that it I turbocharge my Gti. I would only be fast on the straight. When it comes to the corner. There'll be massive understeer and I gonna loose more speed.
Well, guess there's only one thing left for me to do. Get myself a vtec. I search high and low for an ori EK9. But to no avail. It was kinda frustrated. It's like looking for a needle in a hay-stack. Then one day, my brother forwarded me a link from zth forum.
It was Nazlee's cars aka 1122. I later found out it was former own and build by Jacky (the dude that runs Amoil). Well, the pictures said it all. It was love at first sight. Really.. I fell in love with that car and the fact that it was fast. Furthermore, it has all the mods I wanted to do.
1122 after car wash 1
1122 after car wash 2
Enough going down the memory lane. Here're the mod list.
Engine: B16B head with B20B block, Head ported & polish, balance engine, knife edge & balance crank, Custom oil squirts, Jun type 2 cams (that's b4 I broke the cams), h22a injector, oversized piston, oversized throttle body, Mugen 4-1 header, custom piping, Blitz air filter, custom air-ram, Haltech E6k (stand alone ECU), Arospeed grounding cables
Tranny: Custom Ek9 gearing , Cusco Full lock LSD
Chassis: Stock Ek9 shocks and springs & stock Ek9 front strut bar.
Interior : 100% Ek9
Tyres & Wheels : Bridgestone potenza RE711 & Ek9 5 lugs coversion.
Well, that's all that I can remember. I know there's more. What the heck I can't remember it.
Anyway, when you own a highly moded car. It's comes with a price. You also have a fair share of break down. I had several major ones. Here're some of the list of problems I had.
1). Crack piston : Had to rebuild the engine. Made a wrong choice. It was my fault. Did it in Kamal. Well, the whole process took him almost 3 months. Luckily, I was down with chicken pox. Since I was bed ridden so the whole process doesn't feel that long. Although, I do missed drving my car.
2). Broke Jun2 Cams: This happens right after the car came out from work shop. We suspect Kamal's mechs didn't do the installation properly causing the cam to break. Damage has been dome. Had to source out a replacement cams. Got hold of a DC2 cam.
3). Busted my gear box: This happens right after HCOC track day. My fault, I push the car too much. I draged couple of times with Alwin EP3. I whooped him but busted my gear box in the process The Cusco LSD broke and went through my tranny. It busted my final drive and there was a huge hole at the gear-box casing. Took my car again to a wrong work-shop again. Man, I don't seems to learn my leson do I? So call work-shop that I can trust. Did even a bigger blunder. Took them almost 4 months to get fix. Still with some problems. For a start, the syncro used was a faulty one. Had replace 2 of them which cost me a bomb. In the process I fried my 5th gear.
4). Busted oil squirtter: Man this was mother of all the break down. Because Kamal forgotten to customize a gutter at the piston during installation. It causes the oil squitter to break. When one part in the engine busted it causes a chain reaction. It's like a domino effect. As a result, my engine is stave of oil. It brought down with it my crank shaft, cams and head. Had rebuild it it again at Amoil.
After all the trouble is repaired. Finally I get to enjoy the car. The car isnt as strong as how it used to be but I managed to get about 17+ hp ATW. which is still quite strong. I dragged several times.
Here are some of the stuff i changed. For a start the engine bay outlook. Check out the transformation.

Ma Rides.. Pt 1
Penang Trip : At the Jetty
Well, I have quite a number of rides throughtout the years. But only 3 of them are performance rides.
This is my GTi_4740. Used to be. As you can see it's just a normal ride.
Did some minor mods. Mods list as follow:
Engine : Stock , Hot-bits Header, Custom 2.2" piping, 1 center box & Active Muffler, J5 Chips (Matspeed) , K&N air filter & heatshield.
Penang Trip:
Chassis: Hot-Bits front & rear strut bar, APM coil-overs
Rim: Enkei Shogun 15"
Tyres: Bridgestone Potenza Re711 ( 205/50/15)
Been through a lot with this car. I was with this group called DemonTweeks. Basically, we do what normal petrol head would do. we have our Sunday drives up to Awana Genting via Ulu Yam road. Pure adrenaline rush. We would start off at the Selayang Mobil stations around 7.00am and and arrived around 7.40am. With some stops and photo sessions. The usual bull.
Apart from that we also have some trips up to Frasers and Penang trips. That's like once a year activity. the trip was fun. Yeah, those were the days. It was fun. Anyway here are some of the photos taken from the trip.
Penang Trip:
Frasers Hill trip: Just the routine pit-stop
Frasers hill trip :Waiting for our turn to go up.
We also have our monthly SIC outings. This is where the real fun is. Nothing beats the trip to the track. You can really utilise your car at it's full potential. Nothing like drive on the normal paved road. The track is where you want to see or test your set-up. Either, you've done a blunder or the opposite.
