I am sorry for the long absent. It's not that I got nothing to write, it's just that work is so hectic that I got no time to even update my blog. So I took a few moments to updates the most important event in my life. It's my engagement day.
Yeah!! You heard me my engagement day. It's the day I moved to another chapter in my life. It was a tiring day day. No matter how careful you planned everything , there's always that little set-back here and there. But in the end we manage to go through the whole engagement process without any hick-up.
The engagement day was on a Saturday, February 3rd. 2007. We started very early in the morning. Clean the table and arranged all the chairs. Somewhere around 11.00am the caterer came and drop all the food. By then guess and relatives start coming in. Lunch was good. Some of my close friends came (Marie, Hazry, Hanafi and Ijot). That's what happened when old folks gets together. They just love to gossips.
Around 2.00pm, everyone left for Seremban with all the gifts or what we call "Hantaran". This is more of a Malay custom thing.
I gave a total of 7 hantaran and she actually gave 9 back. Well, one of the hantaran is the engagement ring.
The engagement ring hantaran. That's the most important hantaran. The engagement proceeding goes on with both sides discussing how much is the dowry or "Duit Hantaran" from the Male's to Female's side. Then setting the wedding date. Once they reach an agreement. Then comes the tea time. Yeah!! more food. Did I tell you that Malaysians love to eat. Hahahahha
Now, I guess the gateway to marriage life is just already opened up for me to walk through. I guess everyone would be wondering when is the big day. One thing for for sure. It won't be that soon. Most probably by April or May next year.
Anyway here are some of the photos during and after the engagement..
